CROUCH
Carolyn R. (Jackson) Crouch, 89, of Rockford, Ohio, died Thursday morning, September 17, 2020, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.

She was born in Mercer County, Ohio on August 26, 1931, the daughter of Cecil and Ida (Carmean) Jackson.

On November 18, 1950, she married Doyt M Crouch, and he preceded in death on August 16, 2010.

Carolyn had lived in Rockford all her life and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell, Celina, Ohio.  She was a familiar face at the office of Dr. John W. Chrispin, where she was a medical secretary, scheduled the appointments, did the billing,  and really, was the next thing to a nurse!  She found her job at the doctor’s office to be very pleasurable, and knew just about everyone that walked through the door, and loved helping others.  After Dr. Chrispin retired, Carolyn worked for a while in Willshire, for Dr. Osborn.

Music was a very big part of her life—she enjoyed listening to all kinds, especially gospel.  She and Doyt loved traveling to the Smokey Mountains together.  After Doyt became ill, it was all about him—caring for him at home, so he wouldn’t have to go to the nursing home.  That worked out just fine, as she was a home-body.  She and Doyt had three children together, and they were the joy of their lives.  When the grandchildren came into the picture, she enjoyed babysitting for them.

Surviving are three children:  Robert M. Crouch, Hazel Park, Michigan; Rebecca Downey, Celina, Ohio; and Brenda (Terry) Henning, St. Marys, Ohio; five grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Connie Jackson, Celina, Ohio, and Carol Jackson, Columbus, Ohio.  Deceased are three brothers:  Ted, Charles, and Paul Jackson, and a sister-in-law, Joan Jackson.
