SNYDER
 

 

Stephan D. Snyder, age 81, passed away after a lengthy illness on 

Friday, September 10, 2021, at his home near Mendon.

       

He was born January 27, 1940, in Mercer County, to the late Waldo 

Woodrow and Arvella Lucille ( Freewald ) Snyder.

 

Stephan and Audrey Clay were united in marriage on August 19, 1960, 

and just recently celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary.  

 

Audrey survives, along with their son & daughter-in-law, Steve ( Diane ) 

Snyder and daughter, Kellie Snyder, of Mendon.

 

Stephan was the proud grandfather of: Erika ( Steven ) Martin, Derik ( Jordan ) 

Snyder, and Kylie ( Seth ) Owens, and his great grandchildren: Avery, Willow, 

Sloane, Aiden, Izayah, Jahzayah and Jaxson.  

 

His sister, Jill ( Dan ) Myers, also survives, as well as sisters-in-law and 

brothers-in-law: Carole McGillvary, Linda Snyder, Rick Clay, Jim Clay, 

and Scott Clay, and many nieces & nephews. 

 

Preceding him in death were 2 brothers and a sister: Terrill Snyder, Woodrow 

Snyder and Roberta Kay Snyder, and brothers-in-law: Montie McGillvary and 

Richard Clay.

 

After graduating with the Mendon-Union High School Class of 1958, Stephan 

worked for a time at the Sharp Canning Company in Rockford.  He retired from 

Huffy Bicycles in Celina after 41 years of service, having been a supervisor 

in the welding department.  Stephan also spent many years working on the 

family farm, either before or after putting in his full-time shifts at Huffy's.

 

During his retirement, Stephan loved watching the grandkids play ball, and

faithfully attended their events.  Stephan and Audrey enjoyed taking vacations 

to warm climates, which included several Caribbean destinations, and their 

trips to Florida twice a year.

 

Calling Hours are from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 

at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon.  Services will follow 

at 2:00, with his granddaughter, Kylie Owens, serving as Celebrant.

 

Memorial Contributions may be made to Community Health Professionals Hospice 

in Celina, or to Upward Sports at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.

FEASEL

Ryan Eugene Feasel, 50, of Bryan passed away at 8:51 am on September 10, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on May 01, 1971, in Van Wert, the son of Dan and Toby Feasel. Ryan graduated from Wright State University and worked for the public school system as a teacher until becoming disabled.

Against the odds given him, he fought cancer for seven years. Above all else, Ryan loved Jesus. He loved weight lifting and was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and the Las Vegas Raiders. Fall was Ryan's favorite season. He loved the different colored leaves, shortened days, and walks in the park. Ryan was loved by all of his family.

In addition to his parents, surviving are several aunts and uncles: Nancy (Reed) Shaffer of Rockford; Matt (Kimberli) Feasel of Woodburn, Indiana; Belle McAtee of Indianapolis, Indiana; Charles (Sharon) Sapp of Rockford; Linda Sapp of Mendon; Dick (Karen) Sapp of Rockford; Nancy (Dan) Kline of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Roger (Fran) Sapp of Rockford; and Steve (Connie) Sapp of Celina. Ryan is also survived by many beloved cousins who often referred to him as "Uncle Ryan". He was preceded in death by one sister, Tricia Ann Feasel; his grandparents, Harold and Betty Feasel and Paul and Jessie Sapp; as well as several aunts and uncles, Gus and Linda Feasel, Benny Sapp, and Larry Sapp.

 

All services will be private.
