HILEMAN
 

 

James “Jim” A. Hileman, age 74, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.  He was born on October 20, 1947 in Celina to the late Isaac Dale and Mary Ellen (Kuhn) Hileman. 

On December 2, 1972 he married Helen Jean (Brandon) Hileman and she survives at the residence in Celina.
 

Other survivors include his children, Lisa (Chris) Louth, Urbana, Ohio and Scott (Melody) Hileman, Van Wert, Ohio; three brothers, Charles (Jane) Hileman, Celina, John (Myra) Hileman, Celina and Mike (Susie) Hileman, Versailles, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, Ellie, Claudia, Rowan, Anthony, Matt and Zach.
 

Jim is also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hileman.
 

Jim was a 1966 graduate of Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Celina, where he played basketball on the 1964 state finials team.  He proudly served his country in United States Army during the Vietnam era.  He worked alongside his dad and brothers at Hileman’s Texaco Station for many years and then went on to retire from owning Hileman’s Marathon Station.  After retiring he worked at Shell in Celina for several years. 

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, Celina VFW Post #5713 and Celina American Legion Post # 210.

Jim enjoyed golfing, watching all sports, especially NASCAR, where he frequently attended Martinsville Speedway in Virginia.  Of all things, Jim’s favorite pastime was being with his grandchildren and they will miss him deeply. 
 

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina. 


A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am on Monday, October 10, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Celina with Fr. Ron Muhlenkamp officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at the funeral home on Monday morning prior to Mass.

Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery in Celina with military rites to be conducted by Celina American Legion Post #210 and VFW Post #5713.   
 

Memorial contributions can be made to the Immaculate Conception Church Endowment Fund.

BURKHEIMER

Emerson “Burk” E. Burkheimer, age 74, of Mendon, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Divine Nursing and Rehab at Shane Hill in Rockford, Ohio. 

He was born August 25, 1948 in Lima to the late Cloyd and Beulah (Graham) Burkheimer. 

On May 8, 1985 he married Vickie (Miller) Burkheimer, they were together for 37 wonderful years and she survives at the residence in Mendon.
 

Other survivors include his daughter, Tracey (Brian) Wilkins, St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Deb (Denny) Barrett, Celina; a brother-in-law, Ron (Kassi) Miller, Blacklick, Ohio; three grandchildren, Brenden (Tara Harshbarger) Klosterman, Dylan (Tiffany Crosby) Menchofer and Mackenzy Wilkins; three great grandchildren, Laiken Klosterman, Abalynn Klosterman and Eastyn Menchofer; many, nieces, and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.


He is also preceded in death by a brother, Cloyd (Patrica) Burkheimer; a sister, Linda (Albert) Swany; a sister-in-law, Donna (Kenny) Link; and his beloved cat Magic.  
 

Burk or Blue Beard as he was known in the trucking community proudly drove his truck for 47 years and he loved every day of it.  He drove for many different companies throughout his career but he started at Schroyer Trucking in Celina, then for a few years he owned and operated Burkheimer Trucking and eventually retired from Tuente Trucking in Yorkshire, Ohio.
 

He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a true believer.  He loved to go shooting with his family, watching NASCAR, The Ohio State Buckeyes and any western tv shows and movies.  Some of his past hobbies included snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle and camping.  Burk loved being with his family and watching the grandkids grow.  Above all other things Burk and Vickie loved spending time together and traveling on quick overnight trips to a “pick a direction excursion.”  They treasured their time together and hardly ever did anything apart.  They were blessed to build such a wonderful life together.
 

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Rick Brosher officiating; where the family will receive friends from 9:00 am – 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
 

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the Burkheimer family.
