LUGABIHL

Carol Ann (Hites) Lugabihl, 82, of Elida, formerly of Rockford, passed away at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 04, 2022 at her home. She was surrounded by friends and family, in hospice care.

Carol was born on December 15, 1939, to the late Walter A. Hites and Marie (Taylor) Hites. She was one of three children. Carol's brother, Marion Hites (85), and sister Pam Craft (76) survive.

On August 14, 1958, she married James Lugabihl, who survives. They had three children: Steve in 1961, John in 1961, and Joy in 1967. Carol was grandmother to 5 and great grandmother to 8.

She and Jim celebrated their 64 year anniversary in August and took a 10 day trip to Colorado.

Carol was employed as a bus driver for 13 1/2 years, and as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 26 1/2 years, retiring in 2000.

She was much loved and will be missed.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home, 111 W. First Street, Rockford.
