BAIR Virginia L. Bair, age 92, of Neptune, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, at Celina Manor.
Virginia was born on February 10, 1929, the youngest child of William and Grace (Green) McGee.
She attended a one room school before graduating from Celina High School.
On February 12, 1950, she married Donald Dwight Bair in the Parsonage of Celina First Church of God. Dwight survives at their residence.
They raised three children: Bruce (Rita) Bair of Cincinnati, David (Wayne Winters) Bair of Seattle, Washington, and Glenna Bair, who died in April 2020.
A sister-in-law, Dorothy Garwick, of Mendon, also survives, as well as her six grandchildren: Rachel (Ben) Levien, Ryan (Caitlyn) Bair, Laura Denning, Philip (Katelyn) Denning, Megan (Kemp) Lyons and Andrew (Rebecca Martin) Bair, and seven great grandchildren: Sky, Imogen, Tilda, Henry, Darcy, Wyatt and Magnus, whom she enjoyed seeing in FaceTime visits.
She was the last member of her birth family, having been preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard, sister Florence, and an infant brother John, as well as a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bair.
Virginia would be the first to tell you that she didn’t care to cook, but could turn out great pies!
A wizard with a sewing machine, needle and thread, she made beautiful clothes and perfect alterations. She liked making things, and people, look their best, whether it was a flower arrangement or one of her family.
Virginia lived for her family, and helped her children in every way she could, even when she didn’t necessarily agree with their intentions. This support helped them grow-up with an outward focus and concern for the welfare of others.
A Gathering will be held at a later date, and Virginia's family looks forward to celebrating her life and her love for them.
Anyone wishing to remember Virginia's life is encouraged to consider making a contribution in her memory to an organization or cause that is important tto them.
Memories of Virginia or messages of condolence can be left for the Bair family online at: dickandsonshellwarthfh.com.
Arrangements are under the direction of W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home of Celina.
