STRUKAMP

Teresa M. Strukamp, 63, of Rockford passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021, surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 17, 1957, in Van Wert, daughter of Virginia (Houser) Strukamp and the late Elmer Strukamp. Teresa worked as a certified nursing assistant for over 38 years at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford. Teresa was known to always put others first. She was an outstanding care giver and she loved children. Especially, she loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews. Teresa was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed many crafts, including needlepoint.

In addition to her mother, Teresa is survived by one brother; Kevin (Lynette) Strukamp of Decatur, In, one sister Pam (Randy) Severns of Mendon, Ohio, several nieces and nephews; Chad Strukamp, Billy (Sherri) Black, Alyssa (Cody) Morgan, Cody (Claire) Severns, Ty (LaDana) Hanni, and Rich (Michelle) Hanni, and many great nieces and nephews; Marlee Black-Lampy, Zadyn Morgan, Waylon Morgan, Lincoln Severns, Derek Hanni, Drew Hanni, Dillon Hanni, Austin Hanni, Logan Hanni, Mickela Hanni, Hunter Hanni, Ryann Eckhardt, and Arynn Eckhardt.

Teresa was preceded in death by her father; Elmer Strukamp, one sister; Rita Strukamp, and a great nephew; Kingsley.

Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 3750 US-33 Rockford, OH 45882.

Family and friends will be received from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday November 8, 2021 at the funeral home.

GEIST

 

Richard “Dick” E. Geist, age 83, of Celina, Ohio passed away at 11:46 am at his daughters residence in Lima on Thursday, November 4, 2021. 

 

He was born January 21, 1938 in North Manchester, Indiana to the late John R. and Florence (Dickey) Geist. 

 

On September 10, 1960 he married Karen (Bowlzer) Geist and she survives at the residence in Celina.

 

Other survivors include two daughters, Barbara Eileen Geist, Celina and Susan (Charles) Brinkman, Elida; a brother, Robert (Kristy) Geist, Mendon; a sister, Lois (Carl) McNeilan, Celina; and a grandson, Ian Brinkman, Elida. 

 

Also preceding him in death is a sister, Viola Green. 

 

Dick was a 1956 graduate on Celina Senior High School and went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in journalism. 

 

He retired from The Daily Standard in Celina after 40 plus years of service working as an editor and reporter. 

 

He was a very active member in our community serving as the long term president of the board of the Auglaize / Mercer Bi County Community Action Commission.   Dick was also a member of Mercer County Democrats and was involved in the Community Arts Council at Wright State University. 

 

Memorial services will be held at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm; where the family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
