Roberta Long, 65, of St. Mary’s, Ohio, formerly of Rockford, Ohio, died Monday, May 29, 2017, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, where she had been a patient.
She was born on August 18, 1951 in Celina, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence “Peck” and LaVon (Burden) Houser.
On April 29, 2000, she married Harry Lee Long.
Roberta worked for many years as a cook at Koch’s Restaurant and then at Matt’s Restaurant, both in St. Mary’s, OH. Roberta graduated from Memorial High School in St. Mary’s in 1969. She was a former member of the Rockford Eagles Auxiliary #1292, and a current member of the Wapakoneta Eagles Auxiliary #691. She loved to fish, cook, bake, and enjoyed listening to country and bluegrass music. Roberta loved spending time with family, especially the children. She was a big kid at heart!
Friends and family may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017 and 1 hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery at Rockford.
