DICKE
Stanley W. Dicke, age 80, of rural Mendon, passed away Thursday evening, 

May 23, 2019, at The Gardens at Celina.  

 

Born July 20, 1938, in Mercer County, he was a son of Ralph & Lavon ( Wiehe ) Dicke.

 

Stanley and Jesselyn Janell Suhr were married on November 5, 1960, and 

she survives, along with their 5 children: Lynn ( Pat ) Hancock of Union, KY, 

Cheryl ( Ed ) Jaksic of Enon, OH, Kim ( Bob ) Behne of Maineville, OH, 

Michael ( Anita ) Dicke of Celina, and Scott ( April ) Dicke of Mendon; 

his pet dachshund, McDuff, as well as 13 grandchildren: Joshua Hancock, 

Nichole Drew, Brittany Riehle, Heather Acton, Jesselyn & Alexandria Behne, 

Jamie Green, and Courtney, Devin, Haley, Zachary, Gavin & Olivia Dicke; 

8 great-grandchildren, and a brother & sister: Larry ( Dianne ) Dicke and 

Oneta Lyda, of New Bremen.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws: Ed & Katheryn Suhr, 

a sister-in-law, Phyllis Ann Suhr, and brother-in-law, Christopher Lyda.

 

A 1956 graduate of New Bremen High School, Stanley served in the U.S. Army 

Reserve.  He had worked for Hirschfeld Builders of St. Marys, and was a 

co-owner of Preferred Builders of St. Marys, and also a farmer.

 

He was a member of Hamilton-Bethel United Methodist Church near Mendon, 

the Mendon Lions Club, Celina Moose Lodge #1473, St. Marys Eagles Aerie #767, 

and had served on the Mendon-Union School Board.  

 

Stanley enjoyed bowling, playing cards, going for coffee with the guys in Mendon, 

and watching the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, at W.H. Dick & 

Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in CELINA, with Pastor Rob Glenn, officiating.

 

Burial will be at Mendon Cemetery, with graveside military rites to be conducted 

by Celina American Legion Post #210 and VFW Post #5713.

 

Calling Hours are 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, and an hour prior 

to services on Wednesday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in CELINA.

Muscular Dystrophy Assn. or State of the Heart Care.
