HENDRICKS

 

Laurie Eichenauer Hendricks, age 46, of Celina, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at her residence, following a two-year battle with cancer.  Laurie was a fighter, and had remained determined to beat her cancer.

 

She was born November 21, 1975, in Coldwater, to Dennis & Beverly (Ables) Eichenauer.  Laurie's mother passed away on March 12, 2013, and her father survives in Celina.

 

Also surviving is Laurie's fiancé, Matt Vantilburg, and his daughter Baily, her sister, Becky (Dusty) Weitzel, two nieces & a nephew: Katie (Jordan) Rodriguez, Emily Weitzel, and Carson Weitzel, and great-nephew, Jack Rodriguez.

 

Her grandparents: Jimmy & Gaynelle Ables and Kenneth & Luella Eichenauer, preceded her in death.

 

A 1994 graduate of Celina High School, Laurie had been employed at RG Sound and Communications, 

then attained her licensure for property and casualty insurance, and worked at Leugers Insurance Agency 

in Celina. She attended St. John Lutheran Church in Celina.

 

Always an active individual, Laurie had a variety of interests.  She loved trips to Florida and spending time 

at the beach.  Favorite pastimes were horses, walking, bike riding, and playing with her dog, Wes.  

 

Sports Laurie participated in were church volleyball and the Wednesday night ladies' tennis group.  She was 

a fan of Ohio State Buckeyes Football and University of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball.  

 

Laurie adored her nieces and nephew, and followed their sporting events and activities.  She also enjoyed 

attending Baily's horse shows.  Spending time daily with her great nephew, Jack, would brighten up Laurie's days during her illness.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 16, at St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, 

with Pastor Jeff Gramza, officiating. 

 

Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.

 

Calling Hours are 1:00 - 6:00 PM, Sunday, May 15, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home 

in Celina, and before Services on Monday, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, at St. John Lutheran Church.

 

Memorial Contributions may be made to The Cancer Association of Mercer County 

or for a fund to be established at The Mercer County Civic Foundation.
