SHOEMAKER

Michael Allen Shoemaker, age 69, of Rockford and formerly of Lima,  passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at 11:28 pm, Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 19, 1952 in Lima, to Clifford "Carl" and Lucille (Ream) Shoemaker who preceded him in death. On Dec. 27, 1997 he married Marcene (Geib) Turner who preceded him in death on July 10, 2000.

Mike was an exceptional care giver in the health care field, always making a difference in someone's life, with humor, love and laughter. He will be missed by so many with his random phone calls, special nicknames that he gave us all and all the random funny messages he left.

Survivors include a son, David Michael Shoemaker of Cincinnati, OH; a brother-in-law, Eddie Miller of Lima and many nieces and nephews.

Mike is preceded in death by a sister, Sheri Miller and a brother, Larry Shoemaker.

Services will begin at 2:00 p.m, on Friday, July 9th, 2021 at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Lima, with Rev. Chip Steffy to officiate the service. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be from Noon until the time of service in the funeral home.
