VANOVER


 

Robert “Martin” Vanover, age 77 of Celina, met his Lord and Savior face to face on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at his home in Celina.  He was born September 12, 1944 in Clairfield, Tennessee to the late Harrison and Harriet (Weaver) Vanover.  On July 29, 1964 he was united in marriage to Betty Jean (Robertson) Vanover and she preceded him in death on March 8, 2022. 

 

He is also survived by two sons, Randy (Wendy) Vanover, Celina and Shannon (Lisa Patterson, Lima) Vanover, Celina; a grandson, Shane (Jordi) Vanover, St. Marys; great grandchildren, Oulie and Evv, St. Marys; a brother, Verlin Vanover, St. Marys; sisters-in-law, Linda Miracle, New Carlisle, Ohio and Dianne Wilson, Middlesboro, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Verlin (Cindy) Robertson, Tipp City, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

He is also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce (Robert) Martin; and a brother, Billy Ray (Lynn) Vanover. 

 

Bob was a long-time member, treasurer and deacon of the Celina First Baptist Church.  He was a very skilled and talented tool and die maker, he had no official training but became one of the best in the trade.   Retired from Pax Machine in Celina in 2008 after 32 plus years of service.   

 

His greatest joy was his family and he loved attending church.  He will be sadly missed by all who loved him. 

 

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Cisco Funeral Home in Celina with Pastor Bud Walls officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home Saturday.  Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
