ADAMS
Mary Lou Adams, age 83, of rural Mendon, passed away on Monday,  July 13, 2020, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.

 

Born November 12, 1936, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of Henry N. & Elsie A. ( Hehmeyer ) Miller.

 

Mary Lou married Donald W. "Bill" Adams on February 21, 1957, and he preceded her in death June 23, 2004.

 

She is survived by their daughter and 4 sons: David ( Bonnie ) Adams and 

Connie ( Robert ) Roof of Rockford, Daniel ( Laura ) Adams and Gary Adams 

of Spencerville, and Thomas Adams of Mendon, 7 grandchildren: Kandi, Krista, 

Amanda, Khelley, Brody, Chandler and Kendall, 8 great grandchildren, and 

sisters-in-law: Paulette Miller Sommer of Celina and Fran Adams of Ottawa.

   

She was preceded in death by her brothers: H. William “Bill” ( Bess ) Miller 

and Dale J. Miller, an infant son, a grandson Adam, and her husband Bill's 

brothers & sisters: Ann ( Merle ) Townsend, Elnore ( Neal ) Jenkins, John F. 

( Jean ) Adams, Robert D. ( Shirley ) Adams, and Kenneth Ray ( Betty ) Adams.

 

Mary Lou was a Celina High School graduate.  She had been a bookkeeper 

for Bell & Horn in Celina and the Ted Ruck Company in Wapakoneta, and 

owner of an H&R Block franchise in St. Marys. 

 

She served as Union Township Clerk for several years, and had been a poll worker for the Mercer County Board of Elections.

 

A member of the Mendon United Methodist Church, Mary Lou served with the Willing Helpers Women's Ministry at the church.

 

She belonged to a local card club for many years, and enjoyed reading, quilting, word search puzzles, and collecting teapots.  

 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 18, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with Pastor Don Clinger, officiating.  

 

Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery, near Mendon.

 

Calling Hours are 11:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00 on Saturday, at the Funeral Home in Mendon.

 

Memorial Contributions may be made to Grand Lake Hospice or the JTD Hospital Foundation.
