KRICK
Martin Dean Krick, age 81, of Celina, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at Vancrest of St. Marys.
Born June 7, 1941, in Celina, he was a son of the late Henry Junior & Marcile Irene (Sherman) Krick.
Martin and Betty Ann Karges were united in marriage June 10, 1972. Their son, Alyn Christopher Krick, died February 16, 1994. Betty passed away on November 6, 2006, and a brother, Lowell Krick, also preceded him in death.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law: Cory & Sara M. Krick of Celina, daughter and son-in-law: Sara Ann & Josh Middleton of Milford Center, granddaughter: Chablis Krick, grandson: Grasyn Dean Middleton, his brother and sister-in-law: Larry & Alice Krick of Celina, and a sister-in-law: Martha Krick of Mendon.
Martin was a 1959 graduate of Mendon-Union High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Defiance College, and began working on his Master's Degree in Counseling.
Martin retired from Marion Local Schools in Maria Stein, where he was a Teacher for 35 years. During his career, he taught classes in History, Government, Spanish, and Psychology. Martin had been very active at Marion Local, and formerly served as President of the Teacher's Union at the school. He also tutored students in Spanish, and worked as a language interpreter in the local courts.
Martin was a member of Celina First Church of God, where he had been a former Elder, taught Sunday School, and performed as a Soloist. Some favorite activities Martin enjoyed were: gardening, reading, cooking, listening to music, and singing. He also loved to talk, and was quite a conversationalist.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, at the Celina First Church of God, with Pastor Craig Flack, officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling Hours are 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, and an hour before services on Friday, January 6, at the Church.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Celina First Church of God Mission Fund or EverHeart Hospice Palliative Care.
