HARNER

Audrey I. Harner, age 93, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, 

at her residence in Celina.

 

She was born December 9, 1927, in Mercer County, to the late Frank 

& Ina ( May ) Davis.

 

On December 16, 1949, she married Howard Harner, and he preceded 

her in death February 3, 2012.  Audrey and Howard lived and worked 

on their Hopewell Township farm until 1998, when they moved to town.

 

Surviving is a son, Duane ( Sue ) Harner and daughter, Wanda Harner 

of Celina, 2 step grandchildren: Gena Gilleo of Fort Wayne and Andrew 

Gilleo of Mitchell, IN, 2 step great-grandchildren: Adra ( Blake ) Acosta 

and Raven Gilleo, and several nieces & nephews.

              

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alberta Louise Harner, 

granddaughter, Suzanne Nickerson, siblings: infant Ralph Davis, Lawrence 

& Faye Davis, infant sister Davis, Marjorie Ada Nottingham and Winifred 

Johnson; her mother & father-in-law: Clem & Laura ( Donovan ) Harner, 

and brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Orval & Helen Harner, Gladys Kuhn 

Shauver, George Kuhn and James Shauver.

 

Audrey was a 1947 Rockford High School graduate.  She had worked at 

the former Equity Restaurant in Celina, the former Smith Nursing Home 

and Colonial Nursing Home in Rockford, and Community Hospital in 

Coldwater.  Audrey retired from Celina Manor on December 22, 2008, 

after 11 years of employment there.

 

A member of Mt. Tabor Church of God, Celina, Audrey had served as 

organist, and belonged to the WCSC ( Women's Christian Service Club ) 

at the church.  She enjoyed reading the Bible, solving jigsaw and word 

search puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with her family.

 

Private Funeral Services are being held at W.H. Dick & Sons - Hellwarth 

Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating.  

 

Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery in Celina.   

              

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Building Fund

at Mt. Tabor Church of God, 9744 U.S. Route 127, Celina.
