RICE
 

Patricia (Emans) Rice, age 89, a former Mendon resident, 

passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020, at her home in 

Ossian, Indiana.

 

Pat was born November 30, 1931, in Mendon, to Harry S. 

and Luella (Selanders) Emans.    

 

She married Homer Hamilton Rice Jr. on August 12, 1950.  

He preceded her in death January 27, 2003.  

 

Pat and Homer had 4 daughters and a son.  Their oldest child, 

Pamela Kay Hahn, is deceased.  Surviving are: Dennis (Ann) 

Rice of Celina, Kim (Terry) Bollenbacher of Ossian, Tama Lu 

(Rick) Smith of Berne and Connie Teeters of Geneva, a brother, 

Stanley Emans of Mendon, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grand, 

and 1 great-great grandchild. 

 

5 brothers & sisters: Cleo (Sylvester) Moorman, Helen (Anton) 

Schlueter, Raymond (Marjorie) Emans, Alfred (Marilyn) Emans 

and Rhonda (Roger) Eitzman, and a sister-in-law, Janet Emans, 

also preceded her in death.  

 

Pat was a 1949 Mendon-Union High School graduate.  She 

worked at Reynolds & Reynolds, Goodyear and Huffy's.  Pat

also had operated a ceramic shop in Mendon and St. Marys, 

and enjoyed oil painting.

 

Calling Hours will be held at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth 

Funeral Home in CELINA, on Wednesday, December 9, from 

10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, with the Funeral Service starting 

at Noon.  Pastor Randy Christian is officiating.   

 

Burial is to take place at a later date at Hamilton-Bethel 

Cemetery, near Mendon.

 

Those attending are required to wear masks, practice 

social distancing as much as possible, and follow the 

COVID-19 guidelines established by Governor DeWine 

and the Ohio Department of Health.

 

Memorial Contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 

Processing Center, PO Box 863765, Orlando, FL 32886.

ADAMS

 

Geraldine L. Adams, age 89, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Celina Manor.  She was born May 14, 1931 in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Clarence Burton and Ruth Louise (Nogle) Rider.  On November 24, 1957 she married Charles E. Adams and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2019. 

 

Survivors include his children, Roxann (Bill) Holtman, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Sueann Lore, Celina, Greg (Becky) Adams, St. Marys, and Troy (Melinda) Adams, Celina; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Miller, Michigan, and Linda Laughlin, Arizona;

12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren, with 2 more coming in the spring. 

 

She is also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Chet Lore; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Dolores) Fair, Ralph Miller, Ronnie Laughlin and Richard (Marilyn) Adams.

 

Geraldine retired after working for many years as a legal secretary for Attorney John Hinders.  She was a member of Grace Missionary Church in Celina.

 

Due to the National Health Concerns of Covid-19 Geraldine’s funeral services will be private.

 

Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Middle Point, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers her wish was for memorial contributions to be made to Grace Missionary Church in Celina.
