Royce N. High, 77
of Ohio City, passed away at 12:47 a.m., Sunday August 27, 2017 at the
Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born on May 8, 1940 in Van Wert, the son of the late Orval Henry
and Mary Frances (Baltzell) High. On August 9, 1959, he married the
former Carolyn Jean Mosier, who survives at the residence.
Family survivors include his wife, Carolyn; four children, Kimberly K.
(Donald) Harter of Ohio City, Eric S. High of Gainesville, Georgia;
Charity L. (David Pontsler) High of Rockford, and Angela Detwiler of
Ohio City; a brother, Dr. Dallas M. High of Florida; a sister, Marvel
Gertz of Ocala, Florida; nine grandchildren, Kody, Kory, Kainen,
Madison, Jessica, Emily, Stephanie, Logan and Grace; ten great
grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grand daughter, Sarah
Elizabeth Harter, a brother, Donald W. High, and a son-in-law, Nickolas
Royce retired from farming and drove truck. He also operated Duke CB
Sales for a number years. He was a 1958 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty
High School and a member of the Ohio City Community Church of God. He
served on the village council of Ohio City two separate times. He had
been a member of Gideons International and volunteered for Mana Outreach
in Ohio City.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, September 1, 2017 at
Cowan & Son Funeral Home, with Pastors Paul Hamrick and Randy Bevington
officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for 2 - 8 p.m., Thursday.
